I started my 1st semester as a year 3 with an internship, where I was at the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS), in a marketing and event management internship role.
DBCS is a multidisciplinary design advocate, where they recognise and highlight designs that are facilitated through business innovations, encouraging design-led economies, which are highlighted through events and initiatives like Design Power Index (DPI) and SG Mark Awards.
During my internship, I had the chance to practice my skills in Adobe Illustrator, where I created Social Media posts from scratch for holidays like Christmas and New Year's. I was introduced to new sites like Main Chimp and WordPress, allowing me to create scheduled announcements for those who are subscribed to DBCS’ newsletter. I also had the opportunity to attend DBCS' 40th Anniversary Gala, where Design Power Index (DPI) was launched, creating a tangible economic and social impact of design.

Practical skills I have learnt during my internship were being more proactive in clarifying my enquiries and addressing skill gaps that hinder my efficiency.
